Re: New to EPAWD!!
Didnt realize you already had an exhaust in my previous post. Is it a full turboback or just the catback? Welcome to the group btw.
Re: New to EPAWD!!

Re: New to EPAWD!!
Well a catback would be just from the catalytic converter back to the mufflers. If its a full turbo back it would be from the turbo all the way to the mufflers. Also, its good to know if the downpipe (Section of piping from turbo to the catback) is catless or not. Going catless is a great upgrade for not only power but also to get a better sound out of the car. I am sure this evening some of the evo guys will chip in with more info about modding the evo.
Re: New to EPAWD!!
alright man...thanks for the info. and ill definitely look into going catless. I was gonna ask...when are the meets and where?

Re: New to EPAWD!!
Or if you really want there are people who can hook you up on inspection just let me know
The meets are usually on saturdays around 5pm and we post up in the meets category where they will be. I usually organize them but I'll be out of town until the 3rd of January so I think Edwin is going to be setting up the next two meets.

Re: New to EPAWD!!
My Evo is catless and it passes the TSI just fine, as long as you dont have any codes pending.

Re: New to EPAWD!!
Only because I left. lol
I'm going to go against the grain a bit on the whole test pipe deal and recommend a high flow cat instead. I recommend it for a few reasons.
First, unless you're making big numbers, the differences between a HFC and a tp are not that significant.
Next, noise. The cat helps baffle the exhaust sound a bit which helps from attracting unnecessary attention.
My last point does not apply to El Paso at the moment, but could at a later date. At present, you're local emission test consists of the car being interfaced through the diagnostic plug only without a "sniff" check. As stated in an earlier post, so long as you don't have any codes in stored in the ecu, you'll pass emissions. However, should the test be modified, to include an exhaust reading, you will fail without a cat. On the same topic, I have "HEARD" that there are a few inspections stations that will do a visual check for emissions components. I can't verify that as I avoided Texas emissions on my Evo completely.
