Hey guy, Happy New Year! Wanted to post my updated mods.

COBB ACCESSPORT, SF INTAKE and DOWN-PIPE.
Thanks to Chaz2.5 for the AP AND DP BUY! Very Happy

I thinking about running with Cobb aftermarket parts... I'm thinking about my next mod to be a FMIC. What would you suggest? What's a good reliable FMIC?

I would recommend finding a qaulity tmic like the ProcessWest. You can also opt for a Perrin or AVO which will be more than adequate for the VF52. Any fmic that you run will require you to remove your cobb box or cut it to allow the piping to run by it. However, RacerX makes a fmic for our cars that uses a different routing for the pipe. So, if you want to keep your cobb intake with airbox, then the RacerX is the only fmic you can run. Personally, this is what I would recommend at this point.

Upgraded IC
BPV (forge is my recommendation)
1 step colder spark plugs (NGK Iridium)
Walbro Fuel pump
Grimmspeed 3-port EBCS with Torqued Performance stage 3 tune!

On various different flat roads I was averaging 305whp, and 345 TQ with that same setup on my 08 (VF52 swap)

Thanks for insight. A E-Tuner recommended even at my current mods to run a DW65C fuel pump. Is that a wise next mod?

I'm also thinking about shifter bushings and suspension... Hmmm...

Okay another Newb question... To run a FMIC what kind of mods should I be running? Or will a FMIC suffice?

So I ordered kartboy's front/rear shifter bushing & I also bought their shifting knob. I'll be doing the install in a few weeks.

Clark Turner recommended the same fuel pump for my cobb dp equipped sti. Some may opine that its not necessary for a stage 2 setup but our cars fueling is at near 100 capacity so for $145 a high flow fuel pump gave me a little more assurance. Plus just add some bigger injectors and you'll be ready to run E85. The DW65C pump is also drop-in ready needing no modification to make it fit and the install was fairly easy.

I appreciate the info! Very Happy Did you feel any differences with the dw65c? Are you running Clark's Maps? If so, what are thoughts on it? Thanks!

You won't feel any difference with the fuel pump its more of a safe guard. Yes, I'm running a clark map and the butt-dyno feels more power between 3000-5500 rpm. A couple logs today demonstrate Clarks map peak boost is at about 19psi at 3600rpm. The cobb ACN91, stock intake, stage 2 map peaks at 18psi at around 3000 rpm. The Clark map also achieves 18psi at 3000 rpm. For your perusal I have attached two logs from today. Log 37 is with the cobb map and 39 is with Clark's.

Unless you are getting tuned while Clark is here in El Paso then you are wasting your $$$ on the e-tune service. $200 for custom e-tune through Clark or $85 for e-tune through Eric. Both are reputable tuners and can't go wrong with either of them and offer endless online support and tweaking of maps. You are right in the area of Eric's stage 3 setup, just need upgraded intercooler and grimmspeed ebcs. The fuel pump and one-step colder plugs are highly recommended. With that said, if you keep the VF52 then go with Eric's tuning. If you opt for a larger turbo, then go to Clark.

Thanks CJ as always! So saying I go with Eric's tune. How will that working when I'm in Europe?

As with any tune, the octane rating is the key. Check to see the octane rating on their gas over there. For instance if you are tuned for 91 Oct, you can use 91 and above but nothing lower.

Wassup guys, or just to myself. Just dropping a quickie update on my 2013. I have done kartboy shifter knob, front & rear shifter bushings. Maybe, I'm not too keen but I really don't feel any differences. Maybe a minimal change.

Did you replace the shifter as well? Won't feel too big of a difference if it's just a knob and the shifter bushings. when you put the short shifter in it really makes a difference

Yes Short shifter itself is the actual thing that makes a difference.

The SPT short shifter was one of the options my car already came with... So yeah, minimal change for the bushings...

Ahhhh, makes sense. I guess tokico doesn't make the d-specs for the newer rex's.
