hey all,

I got into El Paso not too long ago and loved seeing all the subies and evos out here! I would see a subaru every now and then back in VA, but here its crazy....I see subarus more than hondas and I love it...the tuner scene out here is awesome. I was talking to one of my friends and was wondering if there was a car club in el paso and I just happened to run into a member of epawd at the commissary and he told me all about it. currently running a '14 wrx hatch with AP, cobb dp, and cobb intake. im wanting to upgrade more..just not sure which direction to take it. cant wait to meet some of yall!

Welcome to El Paso Lawrence, glad to see another subaru owner as always. Hope you enjoy what the city has to offer and you are treated well. I just joined the forum a couple weeks ago too, there are some cool people here that have some really nice cars as well. Sounds like you didn't waste any time putting parts on your car, nice....I personally like suspension upgrades to these cars they handle well already but can always be better. I would put that power you already have on the the floor, no wasted movement needed brotha. I haven't been to any of the meets yet but they have them weekly just check out the weekly meets thread. Peace.

hey man! I was thinking either going PW tmic or cat back exhaust. I dont really know how to work on suspension unfortunately. but yeah, i got my car in september of last year and tried to do as much as possible. definitely have a lot more work to do....i have things in mind such as IC, exhaust, ebcs, fuel pump and injectors, possibly headers. problem is I have limited tools and mechanic skills...and also have no idea where to tune in this area

All of the above upgrades are good too.lol..I just have always had the thing about suspension first..but nothing says subaru like exhaust.

I don't know any tuners but have heard of some good stuff through here and through friends about ept motorsports in the northeast. They work on some pretty strong vehicles.

Hey there, welcome to the community =) I am also from VA. My family lives in Fredericksburg, VA. What part of VA did you come from? Anyways, try to make it out to some of the meets. We have a bunch of down to earth members on here so again, welcome!

Welcome to the site. Pretty much have a standard setup power wise. You can opt for an EBCS which will give you better boost. I would suggest suspension at this point, but then again it'll what you want the car for.

sti2envy-yeah i went to a couple of those meets at quaker, but they weren't very good. most of the people that went brought their lifted trucks lol.. so there wasn't very much to see. i think they stopped doing them back there bc people were getting a little crazy with fights and some guy decided to drift around the parking lot. idk if you were around for the meets at salem fields community church, but those were dope. there were some nice supras, vettes, and RSXs when i went, but eventually that got shut down too.

chaz-yeah was thinking about getting an ecbs..just bc they are pretty cheap. have any pros/cons from the GS ecbs and the cobb ecbs. seems as if a majority of the community is going with the GS ecbs. as for functionality i really have no idea what it ecbs does haha. i know it keeps the boost pressure consistent, buts thats the extent of my knowledge. do i just install it and thats the end of that? also, for suspension and suspension is another story..i dont even know where to start lol..just so many parts to choose from

I guess I should specify for a 3-port EBCS since we technically already have an EBCS in our cars. You'll have to retune for a 3-port though. I believe it entails turning down the wastegate duty cycle and then adjusting from there.

With suspension, unless you plan on tracking the car regularly I would refrain from a coilover setup and just got for a solid spring/strut combo. You can never go wrong with sways and some solid endlinks.

^Yup what ever you plan on doing with the car entails the suspension mods, coilovers will take away all comfort unless you go with an edfc (big bucks), what I did with my first legacy was 2005 sti struts/springs bigger sway bars kartboy solid f/r endlinks and whiteline swaybar bushings, rack+pinion bushings and rear strut tower. I didn't have much power at all motorwise but the suspension put it down and it was comfy.

Your car is already set up well but the stock bushings are really pliable whiteline makes everything about 60 percent stiffer in turn takes away lost mechanical energy and torque becomes immediate. I couldn't believe the difference in just the rack and pinion bushings alone, pretty good thing to invest in.

Yeah, it was a lot of rednecks with lifted trucks and ignorant people starting fights. When I first went there with my STi, I opened up the wastegate a bit for fun and some guy tried to throw a big cone at my car. Pissed me off and I didnt go back after that. I went to a few of the Salem meets as well in my STi. What were you driving at the time?

sti2envy-i was riding an 07 zx6r haha. i only had a toyota tacoma back then...so i decided to ride to the meets. what high school did you go to ?

Definitely a good place to start. I know a lot of people go with whiteline products as well. I wish RalliTEK was still up and running. I would recommend their street sways with their HD endlinks but they went out of business and were acquired by PDX Tuning in Portland Oregon. Don't have much to offer anymore at this point.

thats awesome man..thanks for the info. ill have to take a look at them and get in touch with him. if I'm able to snag those and pick up some end links that'd be cool, but id have to get in touch with a couple of you all to help me install bc i have not the slightest idea. maybe i can rent out a lift bay on base and put em in.

Shouldn't take more than an hour or so to do since your car is still so new that you wouldn't have to worry about rusty connections. I'd be down to lend a hand.

Yeah exactly what CJ said, new cars are always easier to work with. Btw, I graduated high school in California but I did go to Germanna community college for a while when I was out there. My brothers both went to Stafford High
