Nope. Alan has a set of 98 RS goldies. These are the one that came on the STi bugeyes in Japan.

Oh sweet, where'd you pick those up from?
Re: CJ's 99 RS (Alice) Back to the beginning..... something new coming up.
A guy in Ohio. $850 shipped ($425 with turbo) with good tires. Everybody else I found wanted $850-$950 shipped for just the wheels They're only 17" but clear brembo's, definitely clear the 4/2 pots. Now, I can sell the wrx wheels/tires now and maybe get my injectors.

That it will. I'm sort of kicking myself for selling the 68HTA since I had a VF39 in stellar condition that I sold off cause I was so set on doing the 68 and other applicable mods plus, I could never decide on a tuner. At least with the V39 I can run the Cobb OTS map (yes, I know not optimal) in the time being. Honestly, I would love to find a motor 2.0 or 2.5 that I can build up and go bigger than a VF series, like a DOM 2.5 or larger, and use the RS as a weekend driver/project rather than a DD/project. Go big or go home right?

Honestly, depending on what type of track whore you're building I don't fully agree that bigger is better.

Just an every day go getter. I feel a solid 350 +/- to the wheels would be sufficient enough to have fun on enthusiast drives, some autox to include taking it out to Arroyo Seco. Be able to take the straight aways as well as the corners. At the same time, I don't want to be maxing anything (turbo, fuel system) at the same time.

Nice, I just sold a vf39 for somebody local
Re: CJ's 99 RS (Alice) Back to the beginning..... something new coming up.
I should have checked with your first! There is a bit uncertainty on this however. I saw the auction on eBay but no pics. so I wrote the guy and he sent me pics via text. Turbo looks clean and communication via texts and messaging on eBay he assured no oil burning, no shaft play, etc... etc... The posting was for a VF39 but after looking at the pics closer and e:mailing them to my friend we confirmed that the stamp is VF30 not V39. So, waiting to see what shows up in the mail now.

If that's the case, that's not good juju at all. Also makes one question if the turbo is as he says it is. Crossing my fingers for you.

IKR? I have all communication through EBay and text in case I have to make a claim with PayPal. I'm still in active contact with the seller so that is a plus.

Still waiting VF39 to arrive. On that note, like mentioned at C&C, I'm thinking about getting a different car. I'm looking at getting into biking (cyclocross) and would like something that would be easy to move the bike around in. Instead of a bike rack, it would be nice to throw it in the back and close the hatch. The only vehicle I am interested in would be an 03 (maybe a later made 02) wrx wagon in white. Nothing past a standard stage 2 and lower mileage. Only caveat is I would get to keep the V7 wheels. Just a thought.

I'd inquire if it wasn't JDM. Wanting to stick with USDM and non swapped if possible. Thanks for the link though

I was scary close to buying an STI Forester once had my wife been willing to bend on driving a manual.
What you ought to get if you can find one is one of those outback baja's.

So still waiting for this VF39 issue to resolve itself. Waiting on PayPal to make a decision. On that note, there is a VF34 at a decent price that I'm thinking about

Don't do it!!!!!! Stick to your guns on your choice of turbo sizes and get what you wanted to begin with.

I'd be content with a 30/34/39/43 since they are relatively similar in potential power. Waiting for the guy to respond on the 34. Guess he won't have it pulled until the 25th when the new turbo goes in. Hopefully paypal will make a decision soon and hopefully in my favor cause that's my turbo money there.
