04 STi with JDM EJ20 swap cam sensor question
I have a '04 STi with a JDM EJ20 from an '03 STi in it. I used the 2.0 block, heads and turbo. Everything else is from the '04 (harness, intake manifold, injectors, cam sensors and such). The car runs great but, it takes 5 or 6 seconds to turn over every time I start it because the cam sensors I'm using are from the USDM EJ257. I can't use the ones from the EJ20 because they're 2 wire and the USDM are 3 wire. I was wondering if there's anything I can do to make the EJ20 cam sensors work with the 2.5 harness and ecu. I bought my car with 2 motors so, I have 2 of everything and a permanent modification isn't a concern. Any help would be great.

Re: 04 STi with JDM EJ20 swap cam sensor question
Either you will have to live with the long start up or merge the EJ20 cam sensor wires into the EJ257 engine/bulkhead harness and then possibly repinning the ECU.
Very similar to what had to be done when I swapped my RS with a WRX motor.
You can try contacting Brian (IWire) on rs25.com He did my wire merger and he may be of some assistance.
