The stock exhaust manifold has been proven to 800hp so theres no need for one, firs mods - you already have exhaust right ? Intake, boost controller, and remote tune by Tscompusa(Tom) or Mellon.

first i would look into getting a tactrix cable for tuning they run about $100 you will also need a boost controller halmen makes a very nice and consistent piece, something you don't want to skip on is a decent tune so you will need to download ecuflash (free) and purchase a logger..... you will also need a wideband 02 sensor when i had my evo8 i used the innovate LC1 since i could tie it into ecuflash

Before you buy a boost controller and start cranking up the boost, you want to get a boost gauge.

As for good mods with the best bang for the buck, if you don't have one already, get a down pipe.

It's always the little things that will mess up a good plan, yeah?

Sounds good , but there is degree of risk when you buy these cars as is. Did you buy it from a friend or a dealer ? has the motor popped or is it still running on stock internals i would say Grab a scratch pad and write down all what the car has and then do a plan for what you think should be you next mod based off everyone else recommendation. But also put in the back of your mind that the motor could pop with any of your upgrades. Any way good find. i admire MR's just wont own one.lol

I don't entirely agree with you, but you do make a fairly good point.

Ducky, he is correct that you should take stock of your current mods and examine your motor, especially if you don't fully know the car's history. This will help you to better formulate a plan of action, if any based more on a desired goal rather than just conjecture.

Like i said on your other thread. I am a mechanic and have all the special tools for a evo ix. I'll runn all the tests on your motor for you for free and write up a report so you can have a good idea of the current state of things. The usual compression and leak down will run 80 bucks plus any other test...
