Re: CQ Thread...
Very Off topic but hoping it will be read since hence the CQ
I'm looking for car enthusiasts who are also active in the military to participate in a documentary. You don't have to specifically be all about cars, you can have other hobbies that you like to do just as much but I just need a few more people to finish!
You can private message me if you would like to volunteer.

CQ is one of those things I'll never miss. Of course, I have since had it replaced with having to do BDE and DIV staff duty

Re: CQ Thread...
cq sucks, still dont see the real point of it. i get the idea of protecting the soldiers but theyre gunna do what they want anyways so is it just to have someone to blame? or is it just to have something to do?
Re: CQ Thread...
It's to instill a sense of responsibility of the actions of our team in our "house" as well as a sense of vested ownership in our area. No one takes care of us better than us.
So does that mean it doesn't suck? Absolutely not. Is it a necessary evil? Unfortunately yes. It gives us the ability to keep stupidity "in house" unless it gets out of hand, and ultimately allows for an immediate response to issues that may or may not occur.
So really, no it isn't to have someone to blame or just something to do. Or at least, that not the message I would be sending to my Soldiers. Anytime I did a barracks inspection, I imparted this sentiment to the Soldiers on duty. If your NCOs and Officers are giving you the impression that they are just making you do this to keep busy, they're not sending the right message.
To some extent you are correct in that Soldiers are gonna act the fool if they want to. You're purpose is to help prevent your peers from taking it to a level that will lead to bigger problems to include felonies and life altering decisions. You're the first line of defense from the actions of idiots.

Re: CQ Thread...
What sucks is that I have to pull it again tomorrow night! Long story but a revision to the roster 5 days into the month along with approved change of duties resulted is a cluster F*** of the entire SDNCO roster.

Oh, and I start call on Friday so it's not like I will be getting a pseudo 3-day weekend. On the plus side, my MSM was approved for my PCS award.
