Definitely not a good start, Chaz. Unfortunately, BMWs tend to be rather twitchy in their electronics. It's my only hangup with them. But when they do run, they're a really nice drive.

Perhaps you should follow suit and join me in some John Daniels whiskey.

I have one for sale! Was going to put it into my WRX before I traded it in. It will wire directly into the speed sensor. Just have to find a place to ground it properly. Improper grounding and you just have yourself a 88mph nuke!

Oh, so according to BMW the warning is in part due to the TPMS not responding. This was already made a ware at time of purchase so all new sensors are going in later this week. Been driving all day and ahven't had an issue. However, if that warning comes back after the sensors are replaced, the Service Manager and I are going to have a nice sit down.

Interesting that the TPMS would cause that kind of issue. What are the forums telling you, as if this was in fact the case then I can only assume others have had the same issue. What year is your X3?

That's what I was thinking as well. I know there was a big issue with the 2007's and the transmission. I'll give it a week and if it keeps on happening then I will bring it up to the dealer.
